Sample RP, 200-300 words long (Can be a old RP):Mai glanced up, a pale hand rising to keep the rain out of her eyes. It was a steady downpour, swiftly soaking clean through anything it touched, and she had long ago given up on actually trying to stay dry. Even beneath the thick canopy of the forest, the rain fell with such ferocity that it plunged betwixt the leaves, splattering everything between heaven and earth. The sky, or what she could see of it from the swaying shroud of tree branches, was an angry undulating mess. Gray darkened to black bruises, cut through every so often by a patch of pale white. The wind whistled sharply, slicing at her face and tugging at her hair with the same resoluteness of the rain. It was still early though, and all things considered, the weather was not that bad. Not nearly severe enough to stop the young Genin from continuing her regimented training.

Today had been marked on her schedule, and come fair or inclement weather nothing was about to waylay Mai’s stubborn adherence to her timetable. She couldn’t waste another day, not with what had been going on in Konoha recently. She simply was not good enough, had yet to achieve a level of adequateness, or even a plateau whereupon she could be satisfied with her growth. Over and over it proved far too deficient, and the seven year old was not going to let that lie. She had one true purpose to work towards, and the days that were to come seemed troublesome enough without having to worry about her skill. Training was all there was for it, her period of idleness having evaporated like the clouds on a sunny day.

Mai brushed a rain-slicked hand against her brow, wiping the droplets away as she slipped onward, navigating the thick forest almost absentmindedly. The rush of water was so loud and so thick, it would have isolated her even on a busy street. Out here amongst the trees, it seemed as if she was the only one in the world. She inhaled the crisp air, the solemn steadiness of her mind bolstering itself, taking solace in the fragile calm and the utter prevalence of nature. Mai had always liked the rain. It hid tracks, and made it easier to travel or stay concealed. And there was something that was so poignantly beautiful about it as well. About water falling from the sky to kiss the earth, seeping into the ground and settling upon every earthly creature.

The small Genin paused at the tree line, one hand braced against wet bark as she swept a low hanging branch out of the way. The dense growth of greenery opened up, tall conifers slowly ceding to smaller saplings, their green branches reaching upward to embrace the gray sky. It was there that the young Kunoichi spotted another form, the sheets of rain falling between them like living walls. Fluid parishioners which made the distance seem all that much longer. It was a girl, her dark clad form rising and falling progressively as she lifted herself up off the ground in flawless pushups. Sleek black hair slid forward to veil her face, the end of her ponytail dragged down by waterlogged strands. What she could see of her skin was a pale white, a stark comparison to the grimly somber nature of her clothes and fair features. Muscles corded along the bare skin between her long gloves and the strap of a dusky tank top, rippling as the girl repeated the same motion over and over and over, her body controlled and fully contained. The small clatter of a hard material drew Mai’s eyes down to the white necklace hanging loosely from her throat, the ivory nodules which looked suspiciously akin to bleached bones clacked against her collarbone as she rose and fell fixedly.

Altogether, she would put the older girl at around thirteen, though she was taller and apparently more strongly built than was average for her age. There was a certain air about her too, that made Mai wonder if her estimate was correct, of if the girl was indeed somewhat older. A Shinobi, there was no doubt when taking in her current activity and attire. Mai lingered then, her form half sheltered by the cluster of trees and whipping branches, the rain clouds building dark shadows to embrace her slender presence. She did not want to interrupt someone who was training, it would be impolite, especially considering the way the girl so fervently worked. It was possible to melt back into the trees, to slip away before she could be noticed and find her own training ground, but that too would be rude if the older girl had already seen her. Besides, there was something strange about the other Kunoichi, some obstinate cast to her features, which drew Mai in. Like called to like, and she had never really met another female Shinobi before. Curiosity warred with delicate manners, and in the end it simply churned up indecision, her small form caught between flight or immobility.
